Article Writing Guidelines

Please adhere to the guidelines below for all article submissions.

Word Count

Cosplayer Articles

  • Cosplayer Article submissions can be anywhere between 1000 and 2000 words.​

Personal Introduction

We encourage you to write a bit about yourself at the beginning of your article. This helps readers connect with you and understand your perspective. (This is not necessary if you have a different vision for your article, this is just an idea for you to use as you see fit.)

Consider sharing:
Your Background: A brief introduction to your experience in cosplay or the related field.
Your Passion: What drives your interest in cosplay and what you love most about it.
Your Journey: Key milestones and memorable experiences that have shaped your cosplay journey.

Writing Tips and Sugestions

We aim to create content that our readers can easily consume and apply to their lives. Here are a few suggestions to help guide your writing:


Practical Tips & Tricks: Share useful insights and advice that can help readers improve their cosplay skills or navigate the community.


How-To Guides: Provide step-by-step instructions on various aspects of cosplay, from costume creation to makeup application.


Resource Lists: Compile lists of valuable resources, such as recommended vendors, materials, and online tutorials.


Personal Stories: Incorporate personal anecdotes to make your articles relatable and engaging.


Expert Advice: Leverage your expertise to offer professional guidance and best practices.

Finding Your Niche

To make your content unique and engaging, consider finding a specific niche within the cosplay world. This helps you stand out and allows you to provide in-depth knowledge on a particular subject. Some niche examples include:


Cosplay Crafting: Focus on specific techniques or materials, such as Chainmail, Foam Armor, or Leatherworking.


Cosplay Makeup & SFX: Specialize in areas like Prosthetics, Body Painting, or Wig Styling.


Character Analysis: Dive deep into the portrayal of characters from specific genres or series, like Anime Villains, Superheroes, or Historical Figures.


Pop-Culture or Anime: Focusing on pop-culture or anime, and their histories and influences.


Once you identify your niche, consider niching down further to provide even more specialized content. For example, if your niche is Cosplay Crafting, you could focus on Chainmail techniques, providing detailed guides and tutorials on this specific craft.

Sample Structure

Here's a suggested structure to help you get started:


Personal Introduction: Briefly introduce yourself and share your background.


Main Content: Dive into your topic, whether it's a guide, tips, a personal story, or an analysis.


Practical Application: Offer readers ways to apply the information to their own cosplay endeavors.


Conclusion: Summarize key points and encourage readers to engage or connect with you.

Additional Details to Include

Visuals and Media:


High-Quality Images: Include high-resolution images to complement your article. Ensure they are well-lit, clear, and relevant to the content. (This is highly recommended if you are doing any step by step or how-to guides) Please provide 8-10 cosplay or relevant photos you would like to be included. Not all of them may be used, however this helps us form a layout that is visually appealing to our readers and to draw their attention to your article.


Video Links: If you have video content, provide links or embed codes to enrich the reading experience. Links must be to original content or content in which you have explicit permission to share and highlight in this article. If you'd like to share someone else's work in your article you will need to receive written permission in the form of a release form, signed but the original content producer, and provide that to us VIA email. You may connect us with the content creator in the instance in which they cannot provide a realease form, we can provide one for them to sign.


Citations and Credits:


Attribution: Properly credit any sources, or quotes. Photos that you do not own the rights to will not be published. If you have photos from a photographer you wish to use, please first reach out to them and discuss the potential interest in submitting their work for publication. Discuss with your photographer if there is a fee for editorial release. All fee's associated with editorial release and submission to LCC are to be settled between the model/contributor and the photographer. Once you have permission from your photographer to submit the photos for publication, you must request a release form from the photographer stating the explicit right to publish in LCC. If easier, you may direct the photographer to speak directly with the LCC team and we will provide the photographer with a release form to sign in the instance that they do not have a release form readily available.


Resources: Provide links to external resources, tools, or references that can offer further reading or context to your article.


Editing and Review:


Proofreading: Double-check your work for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. (Our editor team will also look over your works prior to publication.)
Revisions: Be open to feedback and revisions from our editorial team to ensure the highest quality of content.


Engagement and Interaction:
Call to Action: Encourage readers to connect with you on social media.
Community Involvement: Highlight opportunities for readers to participate if you host any interactive events on your social media.
